FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Information You Need

WHAT DO I DO WHEN A DEATH OCCURS?

Take a deep breath.  You are not alone.  Give us a call, and we can help.

WHAT IS CREMATION?

Cremation is the funeral option that is now preferred by over half of the United States.  It takes places a few days after a loved one passes.  Our service does not include a viewing or service beforehand.  However, if that is of interest to you, we are happy to help.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?

After we receive payment, we initiate the documentation process.  Before cremation takes place, we must receive the official Death Certificate and the Cremation Permit from your local county officials.  These documents can take up to 30 days for the government to process (however, it is usually much quicker).  After we have these documents the cremation takes place and the remains are returned to you in a few days.   Rest assured that once we receive the documents we will let you know that the cremation will take place soon.

CAN I HAVE COPIES OF THE DEATH CERTIFICATE?

Certified copies of death certificates may be obtained from your county clerk's office of records.  Each county has a different charge, but they usually cost around $25 per copy.  Please contact your county office for more information.

WHY IS YOUR PRICE SO LOW?

Funeral services cost too much, and we know why.  The price a family pays a traditional funeral home is inflated with unnecessary markups and upsells in order to offset the profit loss a funeral home experiences when a family chooses cremation over an even more expensive casket and burial.  Funeral homes also have huge expenses (buildings, cars, staff, etc) that make them push higher-priced items at families.  We don't.  We won't.

CAN I TRUST YOUR SERVICE?

The funeral industry is highly regulated and with good reason.  Our firm is licensed to perform this service in the State of Michigan.  We also have partnered with licensed funeral professionals in Indiana and Illinois.  These licenses hold us to regular inspections by state funeral boards.  These boards regulate everyone in our industry, including funeral directors.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVE?

We currently serve customers in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan.
